Samuel Joaquín Flores is a religious leader whom has influenced an entire era; his unrelenting labor in favor of peace, justice, and human dignity are a demonstration of of his leadership. His humanness, love, and humility have not only been long acknowledged by the faithful members of the Light of the World Church but also by the innumerable people that, without being part of his religious community, have plastered the pages of diverse publications with profound admiration in favor of the tremendous work he carries out.
He was born on February 14, 1937 in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco; and, he has been considered by public and private organizations alike as a distinguished religious individual whose work and example of integrity have impulse the growth of an institution which makes its presence known in 43 countries.
His administration, based on actions of love, are appreciated and valued by hundreds of thousands of citizens of diverse nationalities whom have been witnesses of the intense apostolic labor he has fulfilled since June 9, 1964—the date in which he was called by Jesus Christ for the purpose of leading His Church.
In order to order to understand and respond to the question of who Samuel Joaquín Flores is, it is necessary to have faith. From the perspective of his followers, he is known as the Apostle of Jesus Christ. This word—apostle—means “sent.” In this way, the faith that the Light of the World Church professes is one based on the understanding that God elects a man through whom he transmits his divine desires to the rest of mankind.

Samuel Joaquín Flores es un líder religioso que ha marcado toda una época; su infatigable labor a favor de la paz, la justicia y la dignidad humana así lo demuestra. Su humanismo, sencillez y humildad gozan desde hace tiempo del reconocimiento de los fieles de la Iglesia La Luz del Mundo, así como de innumerables personas que, sin pertenecer a dicha comunidad, han plasmado en las páginas de diversas publicaciones su profunda admiración por la meritoria labor que desempeña.
Nació el 14 de febrero de 1937, en la ciudad de Guadalajara, Jalisco. Ha sido considerado por organismos públicos y privados como una distinguida personalidad religiosa, cuyo trabajo y ejemplo de integridad ha logrado impulsar el crecimiento de una institución que tiene presencia en 43 países.
Su administración, basada en acciones de amor, es apreciada y valorada por cientos de miles de ciudadanos de diversas nacionalidades, quienes han sido testigos de la intensa labor apostólica que ha realizado desde el 9 de junio de 1964, fecha en que fue llamado por Jesucristo a la dirección de su Iglesia.
La fe es determinante para entender y responder al planteamiento de quién es Samuel Joaquín Flores. Desde este punto de vista es conocido por los suyos como el Apóstol de Jesucristo. Esta palabra –apóstol- significa “enviado”. Así, la fe que profesa la iglesia La Luz del Mundo sostiene que Dios elige a un hombre para que sea él quien transmita los deseos divinos al resto de los seres humanos.
